Enamel can't repair itself. This means that the lost enamel is never coming back. Because of this, we need to protect our enamel at all costs. However, you may have noticed minor damage to your enamel when looking in the mirror.

Enamel damage ranges from minor to severe like a lot of dental complications. Minor enamel damage can just be a few simple cracks to enamel that is totally gone. Fortunately, enamel that is only slightly chipped doesn't need any kind of treatment. It's actually normal for enamel to chip a little throughout our lives. Chipped enamel may cause your teeth to become more sensitive, however, it doesn't pose any dental problems.

On the other hand, more severe enamel damage may be cause for concern. Severe enamel damage can be caused by many different things. Anything that can damage your teeth, can damage your enamel. In some cases, the enamel may get so damaged that it needs to be treated.

We will need to treat enamel when there are signs of tooth decay. Severely worn enamel makes it easier for your teeth to decay. Luckily, there are ways to help teeth that have experienced heavy enamel damage or tooth decay.
