Signs You Need to Floss More Effectively

Signs You Need to Floss More EffectivelyMost people will floss after they had corn on the cobb. Some may floss after chomping on some popcorn. However, it is important to floss every day not just two rid your mouth of food debris, but also to keep your gums healthy.

Time to Floss

If you look closely in the mirror, but you smell your breath, you may need to floss! It may be that food debris is lurking between your teeth. This food, if ignored, will smell bad as it ferments and in due time will frustrate everyone around you. Neglecting to floss will aggravate your gums too. Gingivitis is gum disease. If you do not floss it is likely that you could develop gum disease and may eventually lose your teeth. The lack of flossing can potentially cause other diseases as well. Studies have shown that diabetes is linked to poor oral health. Inflammation, the root of most diseases, can occur as a result of poor oral hygiene as well.
If your teeth are shifting, it is also time to floss. When you floss, you remove food trapped between your teeth, and your teeth and gums are strengthened. If you do not remove the food between your teeth, those teeth may gradually shift in your mouth.
